Bleeding from Ectopic Gastric Mucosa in a Duplicated Segment of Ileum

Abstract

|
Peptic ulcer bleeding from ectopic gastric mucosa in a duplicated ileum is a very rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding in adult. We recently encountered a young man with an ileal duplication who had suffered several episodes of unexplained
intestinal
bleeding. Resection of the duplication, which contained ectopic gastric mucosa with peptic ulcers, relieved his symptoms completely. A brief review of intestinal duplication and suggestions for diagnosis and manage ment are made. (Korean J
